Ankara, 30 May (AKI) – Turkish police have arrested six people suspected of planning an attack against a Christian pastor in the south eastern city of Diyarbakir, a Turkish newsagency reported Wednesday. Two of the suspects are believed to have frequently visited a Protestant church where the pastor, Ahmet Guvener, worked. According to the report, several of those detained are believed to have had contacts with suspects in connection with the murder of three Christians in the eastern city of Malatya last month.
The three victims of the Malatya attack were stabbed to death in a publishing house which distributed bibles.
Guvener had previously announced that he had been threatened by some people.
