HOW IMPORTANT IS CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP:

It's no accident that this page about Christian fellowship is followed by the failure of Ananias and Sapphira.Luke first gives us a picture of what true fellowship is like and then he shows one of Satan's attempts to corrupt it. But for now I would like you to recognize that their story shows how much Satan hates true Christian fellowship. In an effort to make the church ineffective Satan attacks Christianity at its core.He seeks to corrupt and destroy Christian fellowship. It was important for Satan to try to destroy Christian fellowship.
This section of Acts teaches us something about Satan's strategies against the church. Satan's first response to Pentecost and the coming of the Spirit was persecution-the treat and reality of imprisoment and outright violence.But Satan has another strategy-one targeted against the fellowship of the church.”Having failed to destroy the church from outside,he attempted through Ananias and Sapphira to insinuate evil into its inner life,and so ruin the Christian fellowship.”
This shows us how Christian fellowship is important.
Fellowship is a means of grace that GOD has given to HIS church for their spiritual benefit.
We Christians are to encourage one another(1 Thessalonians 5:11),spur another on to love and good deads.
(Hebrews 10:24),comfort one another.(2 Corinthians 1)We Christians are to,”administer God's grace in it's various forms.”
That's what Christian fellowship is all about-administering God's grace.God wants our fellowship to be pure,to be beneficial,to be a blessing to all who experience it.
Yet Satan knows that if we did that none of us would ever fall. He knows that if we did that the church would be so attractive that people would flock to it. Satan knows that if we practiced Christian fellowship like we should that we would all be so joyful and thankful that Jesus would be glorified in our midst.
SO WHAT DOES SATAN DO?HE SEEKS TO RUIN CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP.
What a tragedy it would be if we allow him to do it.In 1 Corinthians 11:17 the apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthian Christians regarding their abuse of the Lord's Supper and he said to them,”In the following directives I have no praise for you,for your meetings do more harm then good.”
What a catastrophe -Christian meetings doing the exact opposite of what God intended.The shame of it.It was an insult to God's grace.

The example of Ananias and Sapphira teaches us that there's no place for pretence of virtue in the church.There's no place for pride,for self,for self-sseeking,for anything that smacks for the flesh.In the chuch we should put ourselves last. 1Corinthians 1:35 says:”Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.”
WE ARE TO LIVE FOR THE LORD,TOTALLY,COMPLETELY.We are His and He is ours.The life that we have on this earth is merely an opportunity to serve Him,to administer His grace.
That's what we see in Acts 4.
What happened in the life of this early Church can happen to us.We can be filled with the Spirit's power,united in vision,united in purpose,united in our love and concern for one another.We can become people who make a difference in this world,If we are people in whose lives CHRIST makes a difference.We can enjoy the unity of the Spirit,the power of God,effective ministry as we allow CHRIST to live His life through us.
