Re: How many Gods are there, one or many?
Dear mr. Marty Rock, God’s being can not be proven. This is because His nature is totally transendent. He is not an object so that someone can ‘show’ him. A god that is possible to be an ‘object’ of mind’s perception can not be the real God. Being an ‘object’, however vast it be it is still a limited thing (otherwise it can not be a ‘thing’). God is limitless. He is not a ‘thing’.
I remember an anecdote regarding the issue: Once, in Russia, during the reign of the communist regime, when Gagarin made his first flight in space, he met the then Russian Orthodox patriarch in a gathering. Finding the opportunity he wanted to challenge and mock the patriarch, so he said to him ‘I went to the skies but nowhere I did see God’… The patriarch replied, smiling, ‘if you had seen him the one you had seen would not be God’ :-)
Wishes…
